Two Weeks into the Semester

At the end of today, we will have completed the first two weeks. It's time to settle in for the long haul. Here's a list of reminders ...

Extensions: Almost everyone eventually misses getting an assignment finished on time. By now you should be familiar with the extensions policy. Make sure you understand it, and make use of it when needed. If you fail to complete portions of an assignment worth 20 homework points, you can still earn 15 points by doing the work late.

Ask Your Teacher: This is the feature in WebAssign that allows you to ask Jenn for help with the homework. I see that so far there have been about 20 queries submitted via this feature of WebAssign. If you haven't needed to make use of this yet, that's great. But remember it's there when you need it.

Grades: The Grades tab at the top of the page (when viewing your list of current assignments in WebAssign) gives you detailed information about your current status in the course. Keep an eye on that so that you'll be aware if you're starting to slip behind. For example, right now there are more than a dozen students in the class whose homework average has dropped below 80. That shouldn't be happening this early in the semester. The work at this point isn't hard. You just have to keep on track.

And finally, remember that you can chat with Jenn or me anytime about any aspect of this class. Contact Jenn if it's help with the homework that you need. Contact me if you need info on grades, tests, or any administrative aspect of the class.
