MA 114 Online: Power Outage

A few students in the class wrote to me on Monday evening that WebAssign was down and they were unable to submit homework. I promised to report on whatever information I learned regarding the nature of that glitch.

WebAssign released the following news bulletin that explains the incident ...

On Monday October 14, the data center housing WebAssign’s servers experienced a power failure, resulting in WebAssign being unavailable from 10:35PM ET until 11:43PM ET. We apologize for this unexpected service issue.

News Briefs

(Dec 4) Extension requests have been disabled as of today.
(Nov 21) Going into the final day for Test #3, 28 students have taken the test. The average score is 75 and the median is 79.
(Nov 19) With 2 days to go on Test #3, 10 students have taken the test with an average score of 73 and median score of 82.
(Nov 16) After Test #3 has been open for two days, 8 students have completed the test with an average score of 75 and a median score of 88.
(Nov 16) I have reset the due dates for the 6.1 and 6.2 WebAssignments so that they match the dates shown on the calendar in this website.
(Nov 14) MA 114 Test #3 begins tomorrow. Last day for test is Nov. 21.
(Nov 2) Academic Progress Reports were sent out to everyone from NCSU Registration and Records.
(Oct 20) 19 students have taken the test. The average score is 91 and the median score is 94. Monday is the final day to take the test. The Testing Centers are closed today.
(Oct 19) Remember that the Testing Centers are closed on Friday, October 20.
(Oct 18) Five students completed the test during the first two days. Average score is 96.
(Oct 16) One student took the test today. The grade was 100.

(Oct 9) Test #2 begins a week from today (Oct. 16).
(Sep 28) Part 4 of this course starts a brand new topic that is unrelated to what has gone before.
(Sep 13) After Test #1 has been up and running for 3 days, a total of 13 students have taken the test with an average score of 93.
(Sep 11) After two days on Test #2, as of now 6 students have completed the test and the average score is 94.6.
(Sep 9) Only one student took Test #1 on the first day it was available. His score was 100.
